The Shanghai Mekra Lang Vehicle Mirror Company Ltd. serves as the bridge to Asia for Mekra products. The plant, opened in May 1999, now has 105 employees and 20,000 square meters of office, production, glass processing, assembly and storage space. Long-term, the Shanghai facility is intended to become another major research and development site for Mekra worldwide.

This facility houses our administrative headquarters and primary glass processing facility with over 150,000 sq. ft. and 100 employees. The Fürth facility is where Lang Mekra’s unique glass finishing process was developed over 30 years ago. Today, this plant produces all of the mirror glass components used in our worldwide production.

Formally known as Mirror Trading International AB, is the biggest producer of rear view mirrors in Scandinavia. The company was founded in 1945 and is based in Braås in the south of Sweden. In 2000 it became part of the Mekra Family of Independent Companies. In the early years, the company produced mirrors for furniture. In the 1950´s it’s focus changed to include mirrors for the automotive industry. Today’s production is focused on mirror heads, holders and brackets, mainly for commercial vehicles but both for the OEM and for the after market. The Mekra mirrors are recognised for their innovative design and for the use of new technology for improved sight and safety.
