Palmetto Montessori School of Ridgeway celebrates its 5-year anniversary.
Ridgeway, SC…Palmetto Montessori School of Ridgeway celebrated its fifth anniversary November 1, 2004. With an emphasis on ”Education for a Lifetime,” the Palmetto Montessori School was founded by Lang-Mekra North America in 1999.
This modern 8,700 square foot facility provides educational opportunities for children from infant age, six weeks, to the elementary level (12 years). Montessori Certified teachers and staff provide hands on experience to students that follow the Montessori methods, providing education in compliance to ABC and NAEYC standards.
Current Programs include:
Infant Program – Ages 6 weeks to 18 months
Toddler Program – Ages 18 months to 3 years
Primary Program – Ages 3 to 6 years
Elementary Program – Ages 6 to 12 years

Lang-Mekra North America opens new Injection Molding building in Fairfield County.
Ridgeway, SC…Lang-Mekra North America completed construction of its 26,000 square foot injection molding facility in Fairfield County. With more than10 years experience in Injection Molding, this facility will supply the injection molded parts used by Lang-Mekra to build mirror systems.With a total of 10 machines, ranging in size from 110 tons to 850 tons, the Lang-Mekra Injection Molding facility can run a variety of materials from glass filled nylon to Polypropylene. Capabilities also include Gas Assist Molding and an Automatic Robots for part transfer.
There are 20 employees working at this facility over three shifts.

Ridgeway, SC…Lang-Mekra North America, LLC will celebrate its tenth anniversary October 8, 2004. To commemorate it’s tenth anniversary, Lang-Mekra North America is presenting a bold new logo, which definitively reflects a global presence.
Since 1994, Lang-Mekra North America has been an integral part of South Carolina’s continuing economic development, demonstrating aggressive and consistent growth. With North American headquarters located in Ridgeway, South Carolina, Lang-Mekra and related companies have 11 independent manufacturing facilities and/or joint ventures across four continents.
Today, Lang-Mekra, mirrors and other vision products are used by nearly every OEM worldwide for commercial vehicles. North American customers include: International Truck and Engine, Volvo and Freightliner. The company focuses heavily on meeting the demands of the end user by leading the development and integration of emerging technologies.

Lang-Mekra North America opens Phase VI plant expansion in Fairfield County.
Ridgeway, SC…Lang-Mekra North America completed construction of its 20,000 square foot Phase VI Plant Expansion in Fairfield County. This latest expansion increases the manufacturing plant size from 140,000 square feet to 160,000 square feet.
Founded in 1994, Lang-Mekra North America has been an integral part of South Carolina’s continuing economic development, demonstrating aggressive and consistent growth. Currently, Lang-Mekra employs more than 300 people.
A world leader in the development and manufacturing of commercial vehicle vision systems, Lang-Mekra’s mirrors and other vision products are used by nearly every OEM worldwide. North American customers include: International Truck and Engine, Volvo and Freightliner.

MC2 Finishing Solutions Completes Construction in Fairfield County.
Ridgeway, SC…MC2 finishing solutions, a joint venture company formed by Lang-Mekra North America Holdings, LLC (LMNA) and Kraemer Engineering, recently opened a $5 million electro-coating and powder coating facility in Fairfield County. MC2 opened the second phase of the Walter B. Brown Industrial Park in Winnsboro and created 25 new jobs.
Kraemer Engineering is a German based company. LMNA, a manufacturer of mirror systems for heavy transportation and agricultural vehicles, has been in the Brown Industrial Park since it opened in 1994. Kraemer Engineering designs and operates systems for the application of electro coat, powder coatings and liquid coatings in Germany. They design and operate applications for automotive metals, plastics, architectural metals, transportation and construction materials as well as the home and office furniture industries.

January 2004
Mekra Tool and Mold, LLC opens in Fairfield County.
Ridgeway, SC…Mekra Tool and Mold, LLC, a company owned by Lang-Mekra North America Holdings, LLC completed construction of its 12,000 square foot facility in Fairfield County. With over 30 years experience in tool making, Mekra Tool and Mold will provide tooling and rapid prototype services to companies in the Southeastern United States. Mekra Tool and Mold created 15 new jobs.
